KTEL Chania – Rethimnon Intercity Bus

The KTEL Chania-Rethymnon public bus has modern long-distance buses that travel to the prefecture’s mainland, other parts of Crete, Thessaloniki, Patras, and Ioannina every day.

It is located in the city centre. Inside, you will find a ticket office, a waiting area, a cafeteria, a snack bar, a toilet, and luggage storage.

The route from Chania to Kolymbari has city buses that stop frequently at all known tourist destinations.

You can travel to Chania Airport and the Souda Port with KTEL Chania-Rethymnon buses.

Can you buy KTEL bus tickets in advance?

To ensure the time of your desired departure, you must purchase your ticket online (buy tickets online) or at the ticket offices at the bus station terminal in Chania on time.

ATTENTION.
Also, those wishing to board the KTEL buses from intermediate boarding points (outside the stations) should make a reservation by telephone in advance to ensure a seat.

The bus station terminal is wheelchair accessible.

Most intercity buses are green.

You are not allowed to take animals with you, except for animals accompanying disabled people or small pets carried in suitable containers at the driver’s discretion.

To travel to the hinterland of Heraklion and Lassithi prefectures, you must first take the Chania KTEL to Heraklion and then take the Heraklion-Lassithi Intercity Bus. (see here)

Chania bus station luggage storage

Luggage storage is available at the bus station for 2€ for 8 hours or 3€ for 24 hours. After the first 8 hours or 24 hours, there is a surcharge of 2€ or 3€ for each additional 8 or 24 hours, regardless of whether it is completed.

Attention: in cases of critical loss, the customer is charged €21.

The machine accepts only cash and does not give change.

After locking the safe deposit box for the next 15 minutes, you can unlock it without paying an additional fee.
